Executive Director, CHES

Christie Fain

I became the Executive Director of Caring Hearts in 2015. I have a B.S. in Public Health Education with a concentration in Community Health from UNCG. I am also a Certified Health Education Specialist. I began my career working at Wake Forest University in the Health & Exercise Science Department helping conduct research studies pertaining to diet, exercise, and metabolic syndrome. My job consists of providing leadership, direction and administration of programs and services provided by the clinic, fundraising efforts, human resources, and serving as the authorized representative in the community. I love helping people and making a difference even if it is something small.

Jeanette Redman

My role at Caring Hearts Clinic is patient, provider, & staff assistance along with data tracking & reporting. I coordinate referrals for outside specialty visits as well as helping the patient apply for financial assistance for those visits. I compile data and complete necessary reports as required by The Virginia Association of Free & Charitable Clinics and The National Association of Free & Charitable Clinics. I have enjoyed working with the patients since 2014, helping them get the services they need to best manage their health and also working with our staff and volunteers to keep things running as smoothly as possible.

Certified Clinic Medical Assistant

Amber Rakes, CCMA

I am a Certified Clinic Medical Assistant and licensed in Phlebotomy. I obtained my Phlebotomy license in October of 2019 and recently received my CCMA certification in July of 2023. I assist the Medical Provider in daily medical practices and oversee all laboratory services. I also help with fundraising and community services for the clinic. I have worked at Caring Hearts Free Clinic since 2017. I enjoy working at Caring Hearts, to help out patients better their health. My co-workers are family and I enjoy helping the community become healthier.  

Family Nurse Practitioner

Emily Turner, FNP

I have the privilege of working twice per week at Caring Hearts providing care to the uninsured. I provide comprehensive care including chronic disease management, acute care, and GYN exams to adults. We are able to provide access to dental, optometry, counseling, specialists, and other needs to our patients. I enjoy being a part of the Caring Hearts team because it allows me to give back to the community, I grew up in. The patients are appreciative of the assistance that is provided to them. It is an honor and joy to serve this community.

Pamela D. Wright, FNP-BC

I started my journey at Caring Hearts as a volunteer while perusing my Masters of Nursing Administration. I then become the first Executive Director of the free clinic. I have a B.S. in Nursing, Master of Nursing Administration, and a Nurse Practitioner Post Masters Degree. In 2012, I began volunteering as a FNP at the free clinic. I am thankful for the opportunity to serve my local community through volunteering at the free clinic. I hope to display the love of Jesus Christ to each person I serve and that my patients’ lives are impacted for good through this service.

Norma Bozenmayer

I have been a volunteer at Caring Hearts Free Clinic since 2014. My role on clinic days consists of patient triage, taking vitals, and talking with the patient making them feel comfortable. I also assist with the free clinic’s fundraising and promotional events. I enjoy being a part of this great service to the community and working with caring people!
